Dad was always interested in bikes and started riding them in his teens. He is pictured here with a Quick Delivery bike, which included a large sidecar for putting deliveries in.

This is mum and dad before they got married, mum would sit on the back in that outfit and without a crash helmet, Safety first!!!

Dad had a lot of bikes in his younger years and quite often whatever job he had at the time would involve riding bikes. He was a policeman for a while and rode a police velocette. Dad had a break from biking and eventually returned to it with a Kawasaki Z750 twin in 1985, followed by a Yamaha XJ750 Seca (below left), His last bike was a BMW K100 (below right) which he had for sometime before his dwindling strength meant he could no longer manoeuvre such a heavy bike. The BMW was sold and dad gave up biking for good, meanwhile I continued to ride and Alan later got back in to biking again, and so to present day where we are both excited to do this run in memory of our dad.
